Introduction:WiththeincreasingimportanceofEnglishasaglobal
language,vocabularylearninghasbecomeacrucialcomponentin
Englishlanguageacquisition.However,researchshowsthatmany
Chinesestudents,includingthoseinBeijing,strugglewithvocabulary
acquisitionduetovariousreasonssuchaslimitedexposuretoEnglish,
lackofinterest,andineffectivelearningstrategies.Therefore,thisstudy
aimstoinvestigatethevocabularylearningstrategiesofBeijinggrade8
studentsinEnglishandexploreeffectivestrategiestoenhancetheir
vocabularyacquisition.
Objectives:
1.ToidentifythevocabularylearningstrategiesadoptedbyBeijing
grade8studentsinEnglish;
2.Toinvestigatetheeffectivenessofthevocabularylearning
strategiesadoptedbyBeijinggrade8studentsinEnglish;
3.ToexploreeffectivevocabularylearningstrategiesforBeijing
grade8studentsinEnglish.
Methods:
1.Questionnairesurvey:Aquestionnairewillbedistributedtoa
groupofgrade8studentsinaBeijingmiddleschooltocollect
informationontheirvocabularylearningbackground,learningstrategies,
andattitudestowardsvocabularylearning.
2.Interviews:Aselectedgroupofparticipantswithdistinctive
learningstrategieswillbeinterviewedtoobtainmorein-depth
informationabouttheirlearningexperiencesandperspectives.
3.VocabularyTests:Participantswillbeaskedtotakevocabulary
testsbeforeandafterthestudytoevaluatetheeffectivenessoftheir
learningstrategies.
ExpectedOutcomes:
1.Identificationofthemostcommonlyusedvocabularylearning
strategiesamonggrade8studentsinBeijing;
