Introduction
With the trend of globalization, English has become one of the most widely used languages in the world. In China, English has become an important foreign language and English learning and education has become an important part of educational reform and development. However, English listening has always been the most difficult aspect for students. In order to explore the correlation between the listening anxiety and listening strategies of English majors in China, this study will conduct relevant research and explore the listening anxiety and use of listening strategies of English majors through quantitative and qualitative research methods.
This paper will explore the following aspects of the research. Firstly, this paper will review the relevant research literature on English listening anxiety and listening strategies both domestically and internationally to explore the research results of predecessors in this field. Secondly, this study will conduct quantitative research through a questionnaire survey to investigate the level of listening anxiety among English majors and their preferences and actual use of listening strategies. Then, this study will conduct qualitative research by interviewing or conducting focus groups to explore the listening anxiety and listening strategies of English majors.
