“Time is money and time is life.” Everyone should make full use of time.
Teaching steps
Step 1. Warm-up and revision.
1. The verb phrases.
2. Test Ss and review how to read these times.
What time is it?/What’s the time?
Show a clock, and ask what time it is. Practice using quarter, half past and o’clock.
3.Show the pictures and say:
S1: I usually get up at a quarter past six.
S2: I usually eat breakfast at half past seven
S3: I usually go to school at eight o’clock.
(3). Show the new words: a.m. and p.m. Help students to say the time using a.m. and p.m.
What time is it? Its 3:00 p.m.
What time is it? It’s five o’clock in the morning. It’s 5:00 a.m.
It?s 12:00 p.m /noon.
