Ocean transport is the most widely used and most important mode of transport. About Two-thirds of the world total trade volume and over 80% of Chinas imports and exports are now transported by sea. According to the differences in management , there are two types of ocean transport----liner transport charter transport. The advantages of ocean transport Large capacity Low rate The route is not confined by the street or railway Good in adapting to cargoes of different size, shape, weight, etc. The disadvantages of ocean transport Slow in speed High in risk ( Risky) Storm , iceberg, typhoon or other bad weather Less punctual The characters of liner transport (1) Four Fixed: Fixed Route Fixed Ports Fixed Schedule Fixed Rate （2） the carrier is responsible for the loading and unloading of the cargo. Which is included in the carriage. （3） the rights and obligations of the carrier and consignor is stipulated in the B/L issued by the liner company. （4） the procedures is very Simple, and it is an ideal choice for small cargo. The liner company will release the shipping schedules periodically which provide great convenience fo
