Abstract Business Intelligence（BI） analysis system that fits into the characteristics of public transportation industry is established in the increasingly fierce passenger transportation market competition， to discovery operation of rule， to adjust the bus transport capacity， to improve the quality of service is of great significance. This paper is mainly the statement on the design and implementation of a bus information analysis system based on business intelligence， which is created on the basic theories and techniques of the business intelligence with the background of XiAn Public Bus Co. Ltd.，. The first part of this paper falls on the analysis on the key techniques of BI including data warehouse (DW)、extraction transformation loading (ETL)、On-Line Analytical Processing (OLAP)、Data Mining (DM) and (OLAM)， development methods of BI implemented by SQL Server 2005.With the analysis on both key business data of information system and customer demands， the demands of BI system is given， the final BI solution is given. Secondly， the paper puts forwards the designing on the data warehouse of bus information systems accordingly with guidance of the implementation steps and points out key problems to be noted; the paper analyzes the designing of the ETL program package ，an optimization method is designed on ETL program package. Finally. the bus information analysis system is implemented with the OLAM design based on the SSAS of SQL Server 2005. The system is applied and meet the design requirements.
