2.1 guide 1 - basics
This section describes the basics of SONAR. The main content is:
Open and play Project (Project) files
Automatic repeat Project (Project)
Using Marker (Marker)
Speed change
Mute and solo
Change the musical instrument
Play tracks in a MIDI instrument
If you dont already know the basics, read the introductory section of chapter 1. Among them are Projects, Tracks, Clip, Track views, Console views, and other basic knowledge.
Open the project file with 2.1.1
SONAR stores MIDI and digital audio files in the form of engineering files, so first load the project files.
Open a project file
Start the SONAR.
Select File (File) - Open (Open).
Select the installation directory of SONAR in the open dialog box, double-click to enter the tutorial folder, select the tutorial1.cwp file.
Click the open button.
SONAR loads the project and opens it with the Track view. The window size is free to move and adjust to your own habits.
2.1.2 playback preparation
You may have a sound card an output, or a few sound CARDS and each sound card has several outputs. Each sound card has its own synthesizer, and SONAR sees them as MIDI outputs. A single MIDI interface has one or more MIDI outputs.
Before setting the output port, make sure that the output port is available.
Before you play the project, you must set up the audio output port, and by the output Settings, the SONAR will know which port you want to hear from. You may have a sound card with a synthesizer, or a MIDI keyboard for sound. Their use methods will be covered in a later tutorial. Lets first look at how to use a software synthesizer to play the MIDI track. The so-called software synthesizer is a software program, it can be received instructions from the MIDI controller or sequencer software produce different voice with an audio interface. Once the software synthesizer is inserted into the project, the output of the MIDI track is allocated as a software synthesizer. The software synthesizer must be
