The Thinkpad T400 BIOS sets the tutorial
One, Config -- the basic Settings option
1. net work
(1) Wake On LAN
When the Ethernet controller receives the remote wake packet, let the system turn on. Note: if you have a hard drive password, Wake On LAN will not work. [Enabled]
(2) Flash Over LAN (Enabled) - enables the computers BIOS to update (refresh) through an active network connection. [Enabled]
(3) the Ethernet LAN Option ROM -- load the Ethernet LAN Option ROM from the integrated network device. (a special feature of Ethernet CARDS, by default) [Enabled]
(4) Hard drive Direct Memory Access (DMA) - disk cache. Disable this capability if you want to use the previous version of the IBM remote deployment manager (RDM). If it is disabled, the performance of a hard disk drive may decrease in network boot. [Enabled]
(5) Wireless LAN Radio Frequency: Wireless network card Radio. Select On to open internal wireless communication. Select Off and close the internal wireless communication. [On]
Serial Port -- - if you want to start the Serial Port, select Enabled. The Base I/O address and Interrupt use the default Settings. If there is conflict with other hardware, you can change it yourself. Disabled forbids it. [Disabled] [the Base I/O address: 3F8] [Interrupt: 4]
Parallet port -- - start and print. If this is enabled, you can select the method, base I/O address, IRQ, and DMA. You can select the DMA only after you select the ECP. If the base I/O address is 3BC, then the EPP method cannot be used. [Mode: Bi - directional] [Base I/O address: 3BC] [
PCI [Auto Select 11] can set the interrupt address of PCI. The default.
5. The USB
(1) USB BIOS Support - USB input/output system Support - enables or disables boot Support for USB floppy disk drives and USB cd-rom. If you do not enable USB, you will not be able to use any USB device, such as the floppy drive and the optical drive. In general, we have to select Enabled [Enabled]
