foundbusypeopleareperceivedtobeofhighstatus,andinterestingly,thesestatusattributionsareheavily

meetings,emailsandstress,thenthey’reprobablyabigdeal.Thiscultureofbusynessismakingithardfor

employeestofindworklifebalance.Accordingtoarecentstudy,oneinfivehighlyengagedemployeesisatriskof

burnout(精疲力竭).

Personally,I’mgoingtostopsaying“busy”whenpeopleaskmehowIam.Itsoundsselfrighteous(自以为

是的)andsetsthewrongtone.Phraseslike“Ihavelimitedaccesstoemail”and“I’llrespondassoonasIgetback”

soundlikeyou’rebeingheldagainstyourwillfromworkingasopposedtomakingthemostofyourtimeoff.

longweekendortrip.Youcanshareloudandproudthatyouwon’tbecheckingemailsuntilyou’reback.Managers
