Abstract Identiticationofaphidspeciesisalwaysdifficultduetotheshortageofeasily
distinguishablemorphologicalcharacters.AphidgenusToxopteraconsistsofspecieswith
similarmorphologyand similartoAphisinmostmorphologicalcharactersexceptthe
stridulatoryaDparatus.DNA barcodeswith 1145bpsequencesofpartialmitochondrial
cytochrome.coxidaseI(CO1、geneswereusedforaccurateidentificationofToxoptera.
Resultsindicatedmean intraspecificsequencedivergenceswere 1.33%.whereasmean
interspecificdivergencesweregreaterat8.29% f0.13% and7.79% ifT.aurantii3andT.
aurantii4arecrypticspecies).Sixteensamplesweredistinguishedtofourspeciescorrectly
byCOIbarcodes.whichimpliedthatDNA barcodingwassuccessfu1indiscriminationof
aphidspecieswithsimilarmorphology.Phylogeneticrelationshipsamongspeciesofthis
genusweretestedbasedonthisportion otCoIsequences.FourspeciesofToxoptera
assembledacladewithlow supportinmaximum—parsimonyfMP1analysis.maximum.
1ikelihood(ML)analysisandBayesianphylogenetictrees,thegenusToxopterawasnot
monophyletic.andthereweretwosistergroups。suchas citricidusand victoriae.and
