Ted Washington is a manager of sales department of an American company. Recently he rejected two proposals about selling their products. One was proposed by an American employee Dell. The other was proposed by a Japanese one Gaoqiao Xiufu. These two proposals were quite different, and two employees were both optimistic and extremely hoped that their suggestions could be accepted by their manager. So when getting rejected, they almost broke down. ; After that ,Dell talked about his opinion with Ted. It seemed that there was a conflict between them. Dell stated the problem and disputed it with his manager. He also used a variety of methods, such as expressing fact ,listing figures and drawing charts, to illustrate his plan.
In contrast ,Gaoqiao was so shocked and by such a direct rejection that he considered the conflict as distrust toward himself. Actually he planned to resign as soon as possible.;Questions for discussion
