in Junior Middle School
Abstract: At present, in our Junior Middle School English teaching exists the problem of Dumb English. Some students dont know the English pronunciation, and they just memorize words by rote, thereby it greatly increases the burden of students memorizing words and reduces the interest of learning English, what is worse, it has low efficiency in learning. In view of this situation, this paper proposes the English Straight Spelling Teaching. It is a directly perceived method of memorizing words which considers the English words spelling and words pronunciation together. According to words spellings, you can read them aloud; conversely, after hearing words pronunciation, you can spell words. Finally, you can achieve the level of Once catch sight of a word you can read itand Once hear a pronunciation, you can write the word, Thus, it will greatly increase students interest and efficiency in learning English.

1.1 The current problem of Dumb Englishin Junior Middle School
Currently our Junior Middle School English teaching methodology is lead by listening and speaking first method. In middle school, English phonetics learning is studied mainly by listening, imitating and practicing, Teachers rarely teach the system of pronunciation speech, and students are basically following their own feelings, which inevitably lead to the error sounds. Thus, many students use Chinese phonetics instead of English pronunciation to read words. What is worse, it can not develop the correct spelling, on the contrary, they learn English just in the native speakers speech framework—Chinese; they cannot form the framework of English pronunciation.
