Thisstudywillbeconductedusingaqualitativeresearchdesign.Apurposivesamplingtechniquewillbeusedtoselect10middleschoolEnglishteacherswhohaveatleastfiveyearsofteachingexperience.Datawillbecollectedusingin-depthinterviewsandobservationoftheteachersclassroominteractions.Thedatawillbeanalyzedusingthematicanalysis.

Expectedoutcomes:

ThisstudywillprovideinsightintotheexperiencesofmiddleschoolEnglishteachersthatcontributetolearnedhelplessness.Itwillalsohighlighttheimpactoflearnedhelplessnessontheirprofessionalperformance.Additionally,thestudywillsuggeststrategiesthatmiddleschoolEnglishteacherscanadopttoovercomelearnedhelplessnessandimprovetheirprofessionalperformance.
