Different cultures have different etiquette of gift giving. When you
shouldbe aware of theculturaldifferences.In businesspractices,a
good knowledge of crossculturalgift-givingetiquetteseems to be
increasinglyimportantbecauseof globalization.Some examples are
presented here.
Gift-Giving Etiquette in Saudi Arabia:
Gifts should only be given to the most intimate friends;
Gifts should be of the highest quality;
Never buy gold or silk as a present for men;
Silver is acceptable;
Always give or receive gifts with the right hand;
It is not bad etiquette to open gifts when received.
Gift-Giving Etiquette in China:
Itistheproperetiquetteforgiftstobe exchanged with a good
reason, as thanks for assistance;
When the Chinese want to buy gifts it is not uncommon for them
to ask what you would like;
