Packing and Shipment Introduction of Packing The Importance of Packing Packing is one of the essential component parts of commodity production or the continuation of goods production. Packing has become one of important means of competition. Types of Packing There are two types of packing.                                                      Transportation packing, large packing or outer packing. Packing for sale, small packing or inner packing Still there is another category of packing, called “neutral packing”. Outer Packing The purpose of outer packing: To protect goods from damaging or stealing To facilitate transporting, loading, unloading and carrying To economize freight To lower possible customs duties and insurance premium To create convenience for storage and check Outer Packing Containers Outer Packing Containers: Bag Bale Sack Can Case Carton Box Container ` Crate Pallet Drum Sometimes, stuffing materials are necessary. Marking Outer packing must be marked. Marks may be a combination of simple shapes, letters and numbers and words. Conventionally, outer marks mainly include transport /shipping marks, directive marks and warning marks. Transport marks Transport marks consist of: Consignee’s name Number of the contract or the L/C The port of destination Numbers of the packed goods Sometimes, weight and measurement may also be required. e.g: Transport marks Directive marks Directive marks are eye-catching figure and instructions concerning manners. e.g. USE NO HOOK THIS SIDE UP HANDLE WITH CARE KEEP DRY FRAGILE Warning marks Warning marks are obvious symbols or works to warn people against the hidden danger. e.g. POISON KEEP AWAY FROM HEAT ACID WITH CARE INFLAMMABLE EXPLOSIVE Marking Inner Packing The
