商务英语的翻译方法和技巧4 主讲人：李雪丹 第二章 2 2.8 长句的翻译：逆序法和顺序法 商务英语文本中经常大量使用长句, 往往短语套短语, 从句套从句, 使句子结构变得十分复杂。这样可以将大量的信息融为一体, 使思维缜密, 表达紧凑连贯, 层次感强。 而汉语在表达复杂思想时主要依靠词序和虚词, 经常使用短句、分句和流水句, 按照一定的时间顺序和逻辑顺序,使叙述有先有后, 有主有次, 逐层展开。 英语长句的翻译有逆序法、顺序法和综合法等。 3 2.8 长句的翻译：逆序法和顺序法 所谓逆序法是指由于英汉两种语言在表达方面存在着差异，在翻译时应按各自的语言表达习惯重新组合。在组合过程中，原文的一些语句顺序被打乱，或前置、或后置。也就是说，或顺译、或倒译。这种倒译，即从原文的后面往前译的方法，通常称之为逆序法。 4 2.8 长句的翻译：逆序法和顺序法 【例54】 Such is human nature in the West that a great many people are often willing to sacrifice higher pay for the privilege of becoming white collar workers. 【译文】许多人常常宁愿牺牲比较高的工资以换取白领工人的社会地位，这在西方倒是人之常情。 5 2.8 长句的翻译：逆序法和顺序法 【例55】The risk of loss of or damage to the goods, as well as the obligation to bear the costs relating to the goods, passes from the seller to the buyer when the seller has fulfilled this obligation to deliver the goods. 【译文】当卖方完成了运输货物的责任，货物的丢失或损坏，以及承受与货物相关的费用的责任便从卖方转移到了买方。 6 2.8 长句的翻译：逆序法和顺序法 相反，有些英语长句所叙述的一连串动作基本上是按照动作发生的时间先后安排，也有些英语长句的内容是按逻辑关系安排，这与汉语表达方法比较一致，因此翻译时基本按英语原文的顺序译成汉语，这就是顺序法。 7 2.8 长句的翻译：逆序法和顺序法 【例56】The seller shall notify the Buyer two months prior to each shipment whether his inspectors will join in the inspection of the shipment.
