1 Kids won’t go to school. They will study at home on computers.
孩子们将不去上学，而是在家里的电脑上学习。
（1）go to school 意为“上学”。
（2）at home 意为“在家”。
2 But I think there will be fewer trees. 但我想将来树木会更少。
（1）there will be 意为“将有……”，是there be 句型的将来时。将来时表示将要发生的动作，will / shall, be going to do 都可表示将来时。
（2）fewer 意为“更少的”，是few的比较级。
知识拓展
less 也意为“更少的”，是little的比较级。
易混辨析 a few, few, a little, little
a few 表示“一点点，少数”，含有肯定的意思，用来修饰可数名词的复数。
few 表示“很少，几乎没有”，含有否定的意思，用来修饰可数名词的复数。
a little 表示“一点点”，含有肯定的意思，用来修饰不可数名词。
little 表示“几乎没有”，含有否定的意思，用来修饰不可数名词。
3 A：What do you think Sally will be in 5 years? 你认为五年后Sally会从事什么工作？
B：I think she’ll be a doctor. 我想她会成为一名医生。
（1）in 5 years 意为“在五年之后”，常用于将来时。
（2）do you think 意为“你认为，你想”，在句中是插入语。
易混辨析 in, after
这两个词后面都可接时间，但是在用法上有所不同。
in 表示以现在或过去某一时间为起点的将来一段时间以后，常与将来时连用。in two years 意为“两年之后”。
after 表示以过去某一时间为起点的一段时间以后，常与一般过去时连用。在after后接时间点时，仍可用将来时。
