Abstract: A novel series of succinyl derivatives of three curcuminoids were synthesized as
potential prodrugs. Symmetrical (curcumin and bisdesmethoxycurcumin) and
unsymmetrical (desmethoxycurcumin) curcuminoids were prepared through aldol
