People can learn about all the aspects of our society through the mirror. With the rapid development of our society and in order to make better communication with the outside world, it has become one trend and necessity, for Chinese people whose mother tongue is not English, to learn English as second foreign language. However, in the course of learning English, most English-learners are confronted with a lot of difficulties which make them feel frustrated and lose confidence, even some give up learning half way. In consequence, the theme of this paper is to discuss certain mainly social factors affecting English learning, so that English-learners are able to find out better approaches to helping improve second language learning by means of taking advantage of beneficial factors and avoid bad ones. Key Words: social factors; second language learning; approaches 摘 要：语言是社会发展的一面镜子，人们可以通过语言的学习和变化了解到社会的方方面面。随着社会的快速发展和为了更好地促进交流，学习第二种语言——英语，对母语是汉语的中国人来说已经成为一种趋势和必需。不过，在第二语言学习的过程中，大多数英语学习者遇到了各种困难和挫折，这严重打击了他们对英语学习的积极性。所以，这篇论文的主题就是讨论社会的各种因素对第二语言学习的影响，以便英语学习者利用有利因素，避免不利因素好好的有效率的学习,找到一套适合自己学习英语的好方法。 关键词：社会因素;第二语言学习;方法 1.
