中期报告:语法隐喻对中国学生英语理解的影响

摘要:

本研究旨在探究语法隐喻对中国学生英语理解的影响。通过文献综述和实证研究,我们发现语法隐喻是英语中常用的修辞手法,但对非英语母语语言学习者来说可能存在挑战。我们采用实验方法,选取了一批参与者进行测试,包括有语法隐喻和无语法隐喻的句子,并通过问卷和口语测试等方式收集数据。研究结果表明,语法隐喻对中国学生英语理解产生了影响,表现为阅读和口语表达方面的困难和错误。本研究可为英语教学和语言研究领域提供有益的参考。

Introduction:

MetaphorisacommonlinguisticphenomenoninEnglishlanguage,whichofteninvolvestheuseoffigurativelanguagetocommunicatecertainmeanings.Syntaxmetaphor,asoneofthemostfrequentlyusedmetaphoricalforms,playsanimportantroleinEnglishlanguagecommunication.However,fornon-nativespeakersofEnglish,especiallyforChinesestudents,thislinguisticphenomenonmayposesomechallengesinlanguagecomprehension.

Objectives:

ThemainobjectiveofthisstudyistoinvestigatetheimpactofsyntaxmetaphoronChinesestudentsEnglishlanguagecomprehension.Throughliteraturereviewandempiricalresearch,weaimtoexplorethedifficultiesandproblemsthatChinesestudentsmayencounterwhenfacedwithsyntaxmetaphorinEnglishlanguagecommunication.

Methodology:

Toachieveourresearchobjectives,weemployedaquantitativeresearchmethod,usingquestionnaires,readingtests,andoralteststocollectdatafromasampleofChinesestudents.Weselectedagroupofparticipantsanddividedthemintotwogroups-groupA(withsyntaxmetaphor)andgroupB(withoutsyntaxmetaphor).Wepresentedtheparticipantswithasetofsentences,halfofwhichhadsyntaxmetaphorandhalfhadliteralmeaning,andaskedthemtoreadandunderstandthemeaningsofthesesentences.Wethencollecteddatathroughquestionnairesandoralteststodeterminetheircomprehensionofthesyntaxmetaphorinthesesentences.

Results:

OuranalysisofthecollecteddatashowedthatChinesestudentstendtohavedifficultyunderstandingsyntaxmetaphorinEnglishlanguagecommunication.Thisdifficultyismanifestedinbothreadingcomprehensionandoralexpression,includingnotunders
