This thesis mainly describes the problems of English reading strategies that senior students encountered, and applying action research method to improve the students’ reading ability. The teaching result shows that students’ employing reading strategies can do a great help on their reading. Students who frequently use more of reading strategies tend to be more successful in reading comprehension. Key words:Action research
