Oral English Teaching in Middle School Classroom [Abstract]: After generally introduces the present situation of English teaching in China, this paper analyzes the factors influencing oral English of middle school students in three aspects: external factor, internal factor, the factor concerning language itself and the cultural factor. In order to enhance the students’ oral English, some possible principles and solutions are posed to suit the specific situation of China. [Key words]: oral English factor teaching principle [摘要]: 在简要介绍中国英语教学的现状之后, 本文从四个方面分析了影响中学生口语的因素:外界因素、内部因素、语言本身的因素以及文化因素。为了提高学生的口语能力, 也提出了一些适合中国现状的解决方法。 [关键词]: 口语 因素 教学原则 1. Introduction With the development of the society and the globalization of the world, the countries become closely related with each other in terms of economy, politics as well as culture. As a universal language, English plays an increasingly important role in various aspects of the society. As a result, the age calls for the kind of talent who can master English. By saying master, we mean that people should use the language to communicate freely with native speakers. However, nowadays, the examination-oriented education still occupies a dominate role in China. The middle school teachers tend to instill uncountable grammatical rules into the students. Consequently, after learned English for many years, the students can not even speak out grammatically correct sentences fluently though they know the rules by heart. In another word, what the students have learned is just “Dumb English”. Since language is the combination of form and function, neither of them should be neglected. That is to say, language should be taught for communication in real situation. At present, more and more scholars have realized the problems in foreign language teaching especially English language teaching in China.
