Methods 52 elderly patients with type 2 diabetic nephropathy with hypertension were enrolled in this hospital from March 2014 to March 2017. They were randomly divided into two groups： observation group（n=26） and control group （n=26） ）. The control group was treated with irbesartan and felodipine sustained-release tablets. The observation group was treated with irbesartan and nifedipine GITS， and the clinical efficacy and side effects of the two groups were compared. Results The clinical efficacy of the observation group （%） was significantly higher than that of the control group（%）（）. Conclusion It is obvious that irbesartan and calcium antagonists have obvious clinical effect in the treatment of type 2 diabetic nephropathy with hypertension in elderly patients. The incidence of adverse reactions is low and worthy of further promotion and application.
