Significance and Outcome of Human Resource Management’s Application in OrganisationsIntroductionWith the progress of the times and development of society, especially with the rapid pace of technology and emergence of e-business, the economic environment and organisations have experienced dramatic changes. These changes along with competitive challenges made more and more organisations realise the importance of management philosophy. Therefore, in order to improve managerial effectiveness and ultimately maximise the profits of organisations, organisations now pay attention to the strategies and Human Resource Management (HRM). In addition, the rise of recognition of employees’ value led to increasing favour on Personnel Management. Then this essay, based on the example of company Inditex GROUP, is going to discuss four aspects of relevant managerial philosophy and practices. Inditex GROUP is a Spanish fashion retailer founded in 1980 which is responsible for the products designing, manufacturing and distribution by itself. The four aspects mainly concern on following topics: 1) changes on nature of work like technology’s application and application requirements for position, and their impacts on job design and rewards system; 2) what kinds of intrinsic rewards employees could gain from the job; 3) the influence of self-motivations (self-concepts or personal values) on employees’ performance at work; 4) training programme that Inditex GROUP has adopted and the effects of it. Changes on Nature of Work and ImplicationsIt is generally perceived that a job is a range of tasks ‘brought together as a practical chunk of activity for people to undertake’ (Martin, 2001, p 257). According to Martin’s (2001) view, structure of the company determine the types of jobs. However structural framework does not reflect the nature of jobs.
