Because of R, L, C’s different responses to excitation, it becomes hard for beginners to grasp the basic law. This paper started from the conclusion and derivation of the basic law of RLC circuit theoretically, and focused on the description of the RLC resonant characteristics, to make beginners have a comprehensive understanding. With experimental methods, this paper explored the characteristics of the RLC resonant circuit, especially studied the quality factor (Q) value in resonance carefully. The physical significance of the Q value is it reveals the strength of the degree of resonant circuit and shows the selectivity of the circuit to signal source frequency, also the active power to the reactive power ratio. To grasp and apply the principles of the quality factor of resonance, it will get twice the result with half the effort through fully understand the physical meaning of that. This paper provided st
