In central nervous system diseases, mi mune and inflammatory responses inflict serious damage on the brain tissue. TLRs are extensively expressed in the centralnervous system. Brain injury induces the releaseof various endogenous lig- ands, which are combinedwithTLRs via the signal transduction cascadeand involved in thepathophysiologicalprocess ofbrain injury.
