LikeCheng,28-year-oldWuhanlocalZhuAobingalsovolunteeredtohelphishomecity.Hesigneduprightawaytobeavolunteerforthevaccine.Atotalof108WuhanlocalsbecamethefirstgroupofCOVID-19vaccinevolunteersinMarch.Theyarehealthyadultsagedfrom18to60selectedfromthousandsofpeoplewhoapplied.

“Sincethelockdown,IvealwaysbeenthinkingwhatIcandoformyhometownduringtheepidemic，”hesays.ZhuisafreshmanofHubeiUniversityofTechnologyinWuhan.Hejoinedthearmywhenhewas18yearsoldandservedforfiveyears.However,Zhudidntwanttomissthechancetostudyfurther,sohedecidedtogotocollegelastyear.
