Eighty 25-day-old weaning pigs of Duroc ×(Large white ×Landrace) , male and female of the same number, were selected and evenly divided into a control group on the cement ground and a trial group on the fermentation bed. The period of feeding experiment was 135 days. All pigs fasted for 12 h before the end of the experiment
