Abstract: Nowadays it is reported that, similarly to other solid tumors, colorectal cancer is
sustained by a rare subset of cancer stem–like cells (CSCs), which survive conventional
anticancer treatments, thanks to efficient mechanisms allowing escape from apoptosis,
