1.SCOPE

Thematerialsdefinedbythesespecificationsarecorrosionprotectivecoatingsappliedsequentiallypersupplier

specificationsoversteel.Theyconsistofanalkalinezincnickelalloyelectrodepositandatrivalentchromium

passivate/adhesionpromoter.A2,A3andA4arefollowedrespectivelybyanorganicseal,acathodicelectrocoat,ora

waterbornetopcoat.Whenusedwithanintegrallycuredtorquemodifiedpostdip,theseprocessesprovideconsistent

torque-tensioncontrol.Allprocessesarefreeofhexavalentchromium,leadandcadmium.

2.APPLICATION

Thesespecificationswerereleasedformaterialsusedascorrosionprotectivecoatingsoversteelfastenersandsmall

parts.Theprocessesmayinducehydrogenembrittlementandthereforethesecoatingsmustbehydrogen
