ABSTRACT
The purpose of this article is to discuss the advantages and disadvantages of
computer technology and Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL) programs
for current second language learning. According to the National Clearinghouse for
English Language Acquisition Language Instruction Educational Programs’
report (2002), more than nine million students are limited English Proficiency (LEP)
in American classrooms every year, learning how to use the computer technology
and its attached language learning programs to assist those students is a significant
and urgent subject. In fact, the application of computer technology and CALL
programs has become a new trend
