Analysis on food packaging materials laws and regulations and standards
between China and some developed countries

ABSTRACT: With the growing emphasis on food safety, food packaging as an important part of the food con-
tact, its importance of safety and management performance is well known. The countries of the world, espe-
cially the European Union (EU) and the United States (USA) and other developed countries have formed a ma-
ture management mechanism for food packaging. A comparative analysis was made to the relevant provisions
of EU, USA and China in food packaging materials laws, regulations, and standards. And for differences for
food packaging definition and the relevant provisions in EU, USA and China are briefly analyzed, as well as the
materials management were briefly introduced. The problems of current situation of Chinese food packaging
