Section Ⅲ　Grammar 项目一　时间状语从句 一、时间状语从句的定义 时间状语从句在句中起状语作用，表示时间。时间状语从句表示将来时间时，其谓语动词通常用现在时态。 二、引导时间状语从句的连词 when，while，as，after，before，once，since，till，until，whenever，as long as等。另外表示时间的名词词组及部分副词the minute，the moment，the instant，the day，the week，the year，the first time，any time，next time，every time，each time，the last time，all the time，from the time，by the time，immediately，instantly，directly等也可以引导时间状语从句。 三、时间状语从句的特殊用法 1．表示“一……就……”的引导词的用法 as soon as，immediately，directly，the moment，the minute，no sooner...than...，hardly/scarcely...when...这些从属连词引导的从句都表示从句的动作一发生，主句的动作就随即发生，常译为“一……就……”。 Directly you feel any pains，you must go to see the doctor. 你一感觉不适就得去看医生。 No sooner had I begun to talk than he rang off. 我几乎还未来得及讲话，他就挂断了电话。 2．几个和time构成的短语 every time，each time，(the) next time，anytime，the last time，the first time，by the time等可以起到连词作用，来引导时间状语从句。 I liked this type of car the first time I saw it. 第一眼看到这款汽车时我就喜欢上它了。 Every/Each time I was in trouble，he would come to help me out. 每次有了麻烦，他都会来帮我。 注意：　由by the time引导的时间状语从句 注意时态的变化：一般情况下，如果从句用一般过去时，主句用过去完成时；如果从句用一般现在时，则主句用将来完成时或一般将来时。 By the time you came back，I had finished this task. 到你回来时，我已完成这项工作了。 By the time you come here tomorrow，we will have left for Hong Kong.你明天来这儿的时候，我们将已动身前往香港了。 3．till和until (1)主句谓语动词为延续性动词时，主句和从句都用肯定句式，意为“一直到”，表示主句动作一直延续到until/till从句表示的时间才终止；主句谓语动词为短暂性动词时，主句用否定式，从句用肯定式，意思是“直到……才……”，表示主句动作到until/till从句表示的时间才开始。 We didn’t get home until midnight yesterday. 昨天我们直到半夜才到家。 (2) until 和till意义相同，通常可换用，但在强调结构、倒装句或句首时，一般用until。 It was not until then that I realized my mistake. 直到那时我才意识到自己的错误。 Not until then did I realize my mistake. 直到那时我才意识到自己的错误。 4．before (1)表示“过了多久后才……，动作进行到什么程度才……” The man almost knocked me down before he saw me. 这个人几乎撞倒了我时才看见我。 (2)表示“来不及；尚未……就……” She left the company before I could have a word with her. 我尚未和她说话，她就离开了公司。 (3)表示“不知不觉就……；还没弄清就……” Time passed quickly and three months went by before Aqiao knew it.时间过得很快，阿巧还没弄清三个月就过去了。 (4)用于句型“It was/will be＋时间段＋before...”表示“过了多久才……” It was
