Finite temp erature transition in lattice QCD with degenerate Wilson quarks is investigated on an N

5 lattice using a renormalization group improved gauge action We nd the following for the N F case The
9 transition is smo oth for a wide range of the quark mass The chiral transition is continuous The chiral
t condensation well satises a scaling relation with the critical exp onents of the dimensional O spin mo del
c For N F we nd that the chiral transition is of rst order
