Use of host resistance in commercially cultivated wheat varieties is an economical, effective and environmentally-friendly method to manage PHS. With the progress of molecular biology, several genes related to PHS were discovered and diagnostic markers were developed. In this paper, we reviewed the progress on the discovery of PHS resistance related genes, such as R-1, Vp-1 and Sdr.
