Research on the Comparison Between the China and the West in the metaphor of color terms 中西方颜色词对比 Abstract There are many colors lighting our world in the real life, making the thing reflected in the eyes no more simple white and black. Also, these colors shine brightly like stars in our mental world, letting our life get far away from being tedious. For the cognition of color, human beings develop gradually from practice and experience. By endowing different emotions to those colors, they can express what people is thinking about inside. As a result, colors have a great effect on human beings which cant be avoided or ignored. However, because of the differences in natural environment, historical background, religion, national psychology brought by the developing of culture, literature and arts, and so on, China and the west have different views and opinions in the meanings of colors, leading to the differences in metaphor. This article aims to analysis parts of color simply from the aspect metaphor so that I can have a more deeply understanding of the difference between China and the West in culture, and improve the ability to translate words or sentences relating to color accurately.
