Through the analysis of the current situation and the research of domestic and foreign literature, the following conclusions are drawn: Firstly, iron ore import trade is of great significance to Chinas steel industry, because Chinas iron ore resources are relatively scarce, and the dependence on imports is becoming increasingly serious. Secondly, iron ore import trade has brought some challenges and opportunities to Chinas steel industry. Among them, the most significant challenges are the impact of price fluctuations and quality and safety issues, while the opportunities are that imported iron ore can meet the different needs of the industry. Finally, in response to the impact of import trade, Chinese steel enterprises need to adopt a variety of countermeasures, such as strengthening safety supervision, improving technical level, optimizing import contracts, developing domestic mines, and so on. In conclusion, by studying the impact of iron ore imports on Chinas steel industry and the countermeasures, it can provide some reference and help for the development of Chinas steel enterprises.
