Abstrac:tThepaperdescribesastudyontheeffectofconcretefilledchordinrectangularhollowsection(RHS)and
circularhollowsection(CHS)steeltubetrus.sTestsontrussesmadewithRHSandCHSsteeltubewiththreetypes
werecarriedou,twiththefirsttypespecmiensbeingRHSandCHStrusse,sthesecondtypespecimensbeingRHSand
CHStrusseswithconcretefilledinthecompressivechord, andthethirdtypespecimensbeingRHSandCHStrusses
withconcretefilledinboththecompressiveandthetensionchord.sTestresultsindicatedthatallrectangularsection
trussspecmiensfailedinthejoint.sThefailureofRHStrusswasduetothecompressivechordplastification, theother
twowereduetotheflangepunchingfailuremodeoftensionchordwallwhichconnectedwiththetensionbranch.The
CHStrussandCHStrusswithcompressivechordconcrete-insidefailedduetothechordplastification, whilethefailure
oftheCHStrusswithbothchordconcrete-insidewasduetothetensionbracebroken.Concrete-filledinchordcannot
onlyhelpreinforcingsteeltube, butalsoenhancethestrengthandrigidityofthejoint,sresultingintheincreaseofthe
