Abstrac:t oexaminetheeffectofmechanicalbehavioronrectangularhollowsection(RHS)steeltubetrusswiththe
concrete-filledinchord,stestsonthreeRHSsteeltubulartrusseswithbranchandchordwidthratioβ=0.8 under
staticpointloadingatmiddlespanwerecarried. hefirstspecmienwasaRHStrus,sthesecondonewasaRHStruss
withconcrete-filledinthecompressionchord,sandthethirdonewasaRHStrusswithconcrete-filledinboth
compressionandtensionchord.s hetestresultsshowthatthefailureofthethreetrussmodelsareduetothejoint
failure, howeverthefailuremodesaredifferen.t heconcrete-filledinchordchangedthefailuremode, thefirstmodel
isduetothecompressionchordwallyieldingwithsidewallbuckling, thesecondoneisduetothetensionchordwall
yieldingwithsidewallbuckling, andthethirdoneisduetotheflangepunchingfailuremodeoftensilechordwall
whichconnectedwiththetensilebranch. hedeflectionandstrengthofjointsdominatethewholetrussmechanical
behavio.r heconcrete-filledinchordcannotonlyhelpreinforcedchordmember,sbutalsoenhancethestrengthand
rigiditiesofjoint,sincreasingtheultimatebearingcapacityofthewholetrusse.sWhilethejointseccentricityislarger
thanthelmiitsofspecification,sitseffectsshouldbeconsidered, andtheeffectsonmembersisobviously, witha
greatereffectonchordsthanbranche.s hebearingcapacityoftestresultsislagerthan
