中式菜名翻译论文:中式菜名汉译英翻译模式与贴切度的实证研究
【中文摘要】饮食与文化息息相关,密不可分。随着越来越多的国际友人踏上中国这块古老的土地,菜单作为不同文化之间的“传递带”,已成为外国友人能够品尝到中国菜肴,了解中国文化的敲门砖。所以如何保证菜单翻译的质量已成为跨文化交际和翻译领域里的一项重要研究课题。英语作为国际通用语已经成为菜单翻译的首选语言,它能够有效地帮助大多数外国友人点餐和了解中国文化。然而,国内诸多饭店在面对外国游客时,或者拿不出英文菜单,或者是给客人提供了一份翻译的五花多门的菜单。由于长期以来中国菜肴没有统一的翻译标准,一菜多译、错译、误译的菜单比比皆是。如常见的一道中国名菜“红烧狮子头”在有的菜单中被译成“红色的燃烧的狮子头”,或“燃烧的狮子头”;另一道菜肴“虎皮尖椒”则被翻译成“披着虎皮的辣椒”;还有国人熟知的“狗不理包子”却被翻译成“狗也不靠近”;更令人好笑的是菜肴“童子鸡”被翻译成了“没有性生活的鸡”。近年来,中国菜肴汉译英翻译中的诸多混乱问题已经引起国内相关行业的注意,诸多专家学者的相关研究发现中国菜肴的命名方式总体上可分为八种,分别为以原料、加工形状和烹调方法命名;以比喻命名;以菜肴原初扬名地域命名;以历史人物命名;以吉祥话命名;...
