一、课程的性质和地位

《西方文明史》是翻译专业本科专业深化类课程，教学对象是二年级学生，总课时32学时。该课程教学目的是使学生对西方文明有一个比较全面的了解，拓宽学生知识面，不断完善学生认知结构，增强认识西方世界的能力，增强文化差异的敏感性和跨文化交际意识，提高学生的文化素质修养，为促进中西方文化沟通奠定基础。
