Since the nineteen nineties, TV talk show has become a fashion while it starts late in China. Since1996, CCTV’s first talk show “to be honest” had been launched. After that, lots of kinds of talk shows appeared. However, talk shows in China are still in an exploration stage while the?United?States?talk show are?comparatively?more?mature.The paper will study the process both of the talk show of China and the United States, comparing the talk show industry status of the two countries. Besides, it will compare the Ellen show with A date with Lu Yu from a microscopic point of view. On this basis, it will finally point out the shortcomings of the talk show and propose some recommendations.
