Abstract This thesis is an attempt to find the ways to helps the students to improving their ability of listening and speaking. As Chinese students, you have many problems in English listening and speaking, including objective reason and subjective reasons. You should listen English materials in different ways , like radio, papers, VCD and so on. Then you create language environment, try to speak with high quality , choose good materials. An understanding of listening and speaking theory will be of considerable help to the study of language in general and communication in particular. With some practical knowledge of listening and speaking, it is desirable to study its theory.
