In the awards such as MAKE (the worlds most respected knowledge enterprise), IT accounts for the majority, such as Intel, HP, IBM and Microsoft. Most successful IT companies attribute their success to the high efficiency and effectiveness of knowledge management practices and culture.
Describe a useful framework for key factors to the success of knowledge management is eight C framework: Connectivity (link), content (content), community (community), culture (Culture), capacity (capacity), cooperation (cooperative), commerce (business) and capital (capital). Specifically, successful knowledge management practice should include: work oriented access to knowledge management tools enough staff and the friendly interface of the content, communities of practice, knowledge, learning ability, spirit of cooperation, business or other incentives, careful measurement of capital investment and return.
1.connectivity (connection)
These IT companies have strong connectivity to connect employees to intranet, standardized knowledge management tools, knowledge base and practice communities. Knowledge management at Fujitsu consulting was not successful at startup, partly because of the lack of connectivity and standardization of the knowledge management platform. Many companies have been aware that wireless connectivity will be the next stage of development to send knowledge to employees, such as sales staff. OpenText has already started LivelinkWireless, and its sales staff are already using it. In SunPhil companies, sending messages via PDA and text messages and contacting experts in real time has become the main route (Filipinos are the biggest users of text messaging services around the world).
