It can be 2 different values so that if both the maintenance and the user port are connecting to the same network, IP address duplication is prevented. However, an IP address conflict can easily occur when connecting the maintenance ports of 2 or more DF700s to a common network. The factory default values can be configured, but the procedure is the same as for any other change; there is no quick way. SNMP can be used for configuring a device, but it is not used on the DF700 for this purpose. SNMP is used for reporting status and error information only.
