Afterthesecondlanguageacquisitionusuallyreferstofirstlanguageacquisitionoflearninganyotherlanguage.Peoplefromtheperspectiveofsociety,psychology,linguisticsandsoontostudyit.

Secondlanguageacquisitionresearchasanindependentdiscipline,probablyformedinthe20thcentury60sandearly70s,hasahistoryof35years.Itinlearnerssecondlanguagecharacteristicsanditsdevelopmentandchange,learnerslearnasecondforeignlanguagearethecommoncharacteristicsandindividualdifferences,andanalyzetheinternalandexternalfactorsinfluencingsecondlanguageacquisition.

Comparedwithothersocialsciences,secondlanguageacquisitionresearchisanewfield,mostlyborrowedfromnativelanguagestudy,educationorotherrelateddiscipline.Inanutshell,thestudyofthisfieldistosystematicallyexplorethenatureofsecondlanguageacquisitionandtheacquisitionprocess,itsmaingoalisto:describehowthelearnerscangainforthelearnerofasecondlanguageandexplainwhythesecondlanguage.Sofar,thesecondlanguageacquisitionresearchscopethanwideandeightiesofthe20thcentury,linguistics,psychologyandpsychologicallinguistics,pragmatics,sociolinguisticsandsoonmanyaspects.

Westudymothertongueandsecondlanguageconsciouslywhentheyshoulddoallkindsofmoney,bothingrammar,vocabularyandpronunciationsubconsciouslytocompareanddiscusseachother.SuchasChomskythinksthatlanguageisnotonlearning,butpeoplehaveaninherentinthegeneticgene,sowecancorrectthemselves,soastogaintheabilitytounderstandandsaythesecondforeignlanguage.Thistheoryisatheoryofageneraldesignation,includingmanyaspects,two.Amemory,helpusforasecondlanguage.Becauseweforthenativeunderstandingismorethanasecondlanguage,sointranslation
