The Music and Musial Instruments Of Beijing Opera The tunes of Beijing Opera The singing in Beijing Opera The forms of Recitatives in Beijing Opera Acting in Beijing Opera Musical Instruments Used For the Accompaniment The Art of Illusion Expressed through Techniques of Exaggeration and Concentration The tunes of Beijing Opera: The two main styles of tunes of Beijing Opera: 1. erhuang(二簧): originate in Hui tune(徽调);is a lyric kind of tune, often used to express sorrow,agony, etc. 2. xipi(西皮): originate in Han tune (汉调) in Hubei Province ;is very suitable to perform in a pleasant and vivacious mood. Other tunes of Beijing Opera(For Example): 1. level 4(四平调):originate in Folk HuaGu(民间花鼓) 2. wood block (南梆子) 3. Kun Opera (昆曲) The singing in Beijing Opera The forms of Recitatives in Beijing Opera Two forms of recitatives in dialogue and monologue: yunbai(韵白)——rhythmic vernacular jingbai(京白)——capital vernacular Acting in Beijing Opera Includes a set of movements, gestures and expressions.
