T e principle for t e generation of ultraviolet lasers and t e performances of nonlinear optical crystals used for ig power ultraviolet lasers are reviewed. T e researc progress on t e ig power allsolidstate 355 nm and 266 nm ultraviolet lasers at ome and broad are given. T e problems and probable tec niques for t e development of t e ig power allsolidstate ultraviolet lasers are previewed.
