As we all know, Helen Keller is a blind and deaf lecture, author and educator. I heard of her story when I was so young. This is the first time I read this English original work. This passage is really great which just a part of the whole book is. It makes me gain many inspirations about our life.
Learn to appreciate things around you like Helen
Faced to life, ordinary people always take life for granted and also think death keep away from us and often can’t understand the meaning of life, like the doomed hero referred to in Helen’s passage, but Helen always appreciate life and try to make her life meaningful and interesting; Faced to sight and sound, most of people would ignore them because they own them and never lost them, moreover Helen had no sight and sound. As for ordinary people, they should learn to appreciate what they have now including the most common thing.
Learn to use your eyes by heart
Helen has a good friend who walked for an hour in the wood and Helen asked her how her feeling is. Her friend answered “nothing in particular”. This made her sad. However, if she walk in the wood, she always feels a lot of things though she can’t hear or see, such as silver birch, beautiful flowers, cool water, something of miracle even the song of in the spring and so on. The conclusion we can get is that Helen do not consider eyes as just a tool but a way to enrich her life. She thinks it really a pity for that ordinary people who have eyes see little beauty in the world. She really wanted to establish a course of “how to use eyes” if she were a president of a university.
Learn to see my friends by sight or by fingers
If there are three more days to see, naturally, Helen wants to see things she had never seen; and she also wants to see the people who always accompany her especially her dear teacher Mrs. Anne Sullivan. Anne came to her when she was just a little
