Thiscourseisalanguageskilltrainingcourseformajorsofinternational

studies.ItissynchronizedwithCollegeEnglish,complementingeachotherto

performitsduties.WithIELTSreadingandwritingasthegoal,thecourse

enablesstudentstounderstandthebasicexamformatandtest-takingstrategies

ofIELTS,andgraspthefeaturesofIELTSreadingintermsofvocabulary,

grammaranddiscourse.Studentsareexpectedtoacquirethereadingskillsto

interprettitle,browsequestions,findkeywords,graspthemainideaofeach

paragraph,analyzelongsentencesandlocatespecificinformation.Inwriting,

studentsshoulddeveloptheconsciousnessofstyle,cohesionandcoherence,and

cultivateanadequateunderstandingofwritinggenressuchasgraphdescription
