Abs tract: N a tura l d isaster is the hotspo t question in international society and academ y. Guard of typhoon d isaster is
very mi portant since the increasing o f its intensity, frequency and extent. Coastal zone is an mi portant area and
strateg ic focu s o f population concentration, nat iona l econom y and society developm ent, so the loss from typhoon dis
aster is very fierce and fatal. A t presen ,t the m ain d iscu ssed questions in th is fie ld are: rem ote sensing sources o f
typhoon d isaster cond ition inform ation, m ethod o f disaster cond ition assessm ent based on rem o te sensing mi agery,
the index es system and m ode l o f typhoon disaster cond ition assessm ent, typhoon d isaster risk assessm ent and m an
agem ent. In the backg round of g lobalw arm ing and qu ick urban ization, our research shou ld focu s on these aspects:
